El Meson del Quijote

This charming boutique hotel has exceeded my already high expectations. It’s is beautiful, so much attention to detail. My room was huge and very comfortable with vintage style furnishings. The views of San Miguel de Allende are are stunning! It’s a short walk down the hill to the centre of town. I walked back up the hill easily, but there is a bus / taxis. Oscar is lovely and so helpful from the moment I arrived until I departed.

I wish I could give 7 stars to the owners of this hotel. They are incredibly polite and very conscientious about creating a memorable stay for their guests. I had a situation where I took an Uber from a tourist spot to the hotel to grab my luggage before heading to the bus station. However, the Uber driver canceled the second part of the trip and drove off with my backpack after I got my luggage. The girl at the front desk acted swiftly, helping me negotiate its return and ensuring I got my backpack back. I’m incredibly grateful for her kindness and quick thinking. And the room was wonderful, highly recommend this place for both the hospitality and the quality of the stay.

I cannot say enough good things about the service and care Oscar provided! My boyfriend is a giant and we booked a small room and he even gave us a free king room when someone checked out a day early. He was never lingering or intrusive but always right there if we had a question and greeted us with a complimentary corona which started vacation off with a nice touch! They also clean the rooms every day which fell off for most large hotels during the pandemic and never came back. And the view from the roof was incredible! Enjoyed a drink at the tables up there and my boyfriend and BIL enjoyed a cigar. 10/10!

We had such an awesome stay at El Meson del Quijote. First and foremost, Oscar made us feel so welcome and at home. The room was perfect, complete with large windows, fans, and a great shower. This is at the near top of the San Miguel hillside, but it is so worth it — the views from the rooftop patio are stunning. At night, it is nice and quiet, and in the morning you’re woken up to a beautiful sunrise and a rooster — it’s so lovely and pleasant — can you ask for more? All this for a wonderful value room only a quick 5-10 min Uber into the San Miguel town. Thank you Oscar for such an amazing stay!

We had about 20 family members from the USA reserve most of the rooms during my niece’s wedding weekend. Our time here was magical and unforgettable, going down as our best family reunion ever! Oscar went out of his way to make our stay special. Though the hotel is located on a hill, good food was walking distance for healthy members of our party, and Uber’s were readily available for even short trips. Per Oscar’s suggestion many of us had breakfast at Cumpanio, which was amazing! There are a few other wonderful options close by, but the walk back is uphill, which wasn’t an issue for my wife and me. Thank you, Oscar! The hotel is at top of center of town. And is very small but rooms are large and very comfortable and very clean. It has that traditional feel. Staff is very helpful and so nice. Oscar runs the hotel and is so nice and helpful. Keep in mind if you want to walk to El Centro, that’s where all the action is, you must walk straight down and back straight up! Taxi’s are available and inexpensive. Also the rooms don’t have air conditioning but the provide fans that did the trick. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel. The room and bath were more spacious than I had anticipated and all the my needs were met, including having coffee available in the room. Spent some time in the rooftop which has an amazing view. The hospitality was amazing and worth mentioning that Oscar went out of his way to find us transportation to Querétaro airport at the late hours of the night. Had an amazing stay and would go back again.

Our family came into town for a wedding, and we took up most of rooms in the hotel. Oscar and his staff were kind and gracious and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. The whole experience was absolutely lovely, and if ever given the chance to come back to San Miguel de Allende, we will definitely stay here again!
